Lecture and discussion with activists from the anti-authoritarian volunteer network „Solidarity Collectives“ from Ukraine on the war and solidarity from below
21.02.24 19 Uhr, KTS Freiburg (Baslerstr. 103)

Solidarity Collectives is an anti-authoritarian volunteer network formed before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine to help comrades on the frontline and civilians affected by the war. They believe that, despite of the multidimensionality of any global event, the key reasons for this war are the imperial policy of the Russian Federation, the belief in the historical mission of the Russian elites, and an attempt to establish control over what they think is their sphere of influence.

Based on anti-authoritarian ideas, therefore they actively resist Russian imperialism and support the right of the Ukrainian people to self-defense.

Their goal is a free & just society and their main values are based on social, economic and gender equality: They reject neoliberal ideas for the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war, pro active support feminism and other anti-authoritarian & anti-colonial movements around the world. They promote animal rights and climate justice. All of this goals are incompatible with Putin’s authoritarian regime.

Many see 2024 as a crucial year for resisting Russian imperialist aggression – the struggle continues daily, making it all the more important to show solidarity and active support for the anti-authoritarian comrades and the people in Ukraine.

An activist from Solidarity Collectives will speak about their struggle against imperialist policies, their previous work in support of Russian and Belarusian refugees, their current work and the way the collectives are functioning during the full-scale invasion.

You’ll have the chance to buy merchandise and make donations to support anti-authoritarian comrades in Ukraine.

The event will be held in English.
